There’s so much to do in Baltimore, Maryland its hard to decide where to start. With a plethora of events, historical monuments, and world class attractions, It may take a few visits to see them all. But never fear I will guide you through this Harbor City of fun with my list of 10 things to see in Baltimore. A good mix of sight seeing and nightlife, get ready for a fully scheduled trip!

#10 Visit Edgar Allen Poe’s house

Yes the famous macabre writer is from the City of Baltimore. Check out the house he grew up in and how they turned it into a historical museum. You’ll learn a few disturbing facts that you can never un-hear so brace yourself. If you wish to pay respects, his grave is also located not too far from the house’s location.

#9 George Washington Memorial

No not the one in Washington D.C. , another slightly shorter tower. Actually made before the one in Washington D.C., it contains a nice little museum located in Mount Vernon place. There’s a good amount of history to take in plus you can climb up the tower for a cool view. Get there early before it closes on you.

#8 Go to the Baltimore Zoo

Everyone loves animals. And the Baltimore City Zoo has a wide variety of animals from Polar bears, to jungle cats, and penguins. And its one of the most interactive zoos on the East Coast. If you ever wanted to feed a giraffe, now’s your chance. There’s also certain times of they day where you can join in on the super cute penguin feeding and even ride a camel. Enough said.

#7 See some Concerts

There’s always something going on in Baltimore. They have lots of venues for big name artists so whatever your preference is you’ll find something great. The Hip Hop scene is particularly excellent. One of my favorite Hip Hop Artists, Substantial plays here frequently. A world leader in conscious underground Hip Hop, I recommend checking Him out. Even the highly underrated Asheru (sang the Boondocks animated series theme song) shows up in Baltimore. Not to mention all the awesome extremely skilled DJs.

#6 Eat High Quality Seafood

I’m not just hungry all the time (eh maybe) there really is world renowned Seafood in Baltimore. Especially famous for its steamed crabs and crab cakes, there are lots of other dishes that will make your mouth water as you remember their delicious  flavors. One of these awesome restaurants is Bertha’s Mussels located at Fell’s point in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Some of the best shellfish I’ve ever had so it’s worth going out of your way for. Plus you get a free Bumper sticker.

#5 The Inner Harbor

One of the coolest places in Baltimore, the Inner Harbor is definitely where Maryland gets its nickname,  “Charm City”. There is a fun atmosphere any time you take a stroll around. With tons of great restaurants, attractions, and cool looking ships, your bound to enjoy yourself. I have good memories from just about every time I’ve visited. There’s even a Pirate Cruise if you feel obligated to drink on a boat like a true pirate.

#4 Baltimore City Comic-Con

For all my fellow Otaku out there, you gotta check out the Baltimore City Comic-Con. Its a super fun and busy event with tons of comic book, anime, and video game accessories to gander at. Even if you just check out the amazing art work, watch cosplayers, or support independent comic book artist, it will be an entertaining day. Check out their website so you can get ready to attend next year.

#3 Tour the Historic Ships USS Constellation

If you weren’t satisfied by just walking around, Check out the USS Constellations. An actual warship turned museum, its quite the impressive sight if you can spare the $11. The last sail-only warship built by the US Navy, its cool going through and reliving history for a moment.

#2 Look Down From the Top of the World

While your in the Inner Harbor, stop by the Top of the World Observatory which overlooks the Harbor. It offers a great view of the whole city and has some cool souvenirs at the top. Just be prepared to walk down 27 flights of stairs if the elevator breaks down. Most likely won’t happen, but its important to be aware of the risk.

*They gave back our $7  under the circumstances

#1 Party all night Long at the Power Plant Live!

After your done sight seeing and soaking up all that history, you can experience the vibrant night at Power Plant Live! Located in the downtown section of the Inner Harbor, this collection or bars, restaurants, and clubs, its the perfect place to drink and dance the night away. Take a shot for me.

*Drink Responsibly

And there you have it. A well diversified list of things to enjoy while your in Baltimore. Its an awesome Harbor city with great food, history, and night life! As always thanks for reading, until next time. Keep leveling up!
